Hey there folks,

So, lets see... I was around 17 years old when I really started to play, to develop my own sound, to organize parties, in and around Hagen. Sure, in the early days they were all illegal but later on, more or less Legal. Here are a few of the clubs where I was a resident, places I had a lot of fun and remember with a warm heart such as the legendary Proberaum in Hagen's Sedanstraße, Trigger-Club, Zappata, Lucianos Bar, Playground/Köln.....

Hmmm, I'd describe my sound-style as the old-mix-school. I've been told that my talent relies on my ability to spin between the music-genres that I like and play often and weave them together so tight that their borders evaporate. Musically, I'm several places at the same time; between Deep-House, Techno, Electronica, a few violins shattering, something rattling over here, a washing machine doing its rounds, something halfway between screechy and wobbly bass, basically anything our ears can recognize, and all that well mixed. With my audience I try and to protect and savor these moments and together with them reach our limits. And thats exactly where I see my place on those nights, as a go-between between these powerful entities ….the music and the audience. The venue is transformed again and again: The set is influenced by the interaction between the music, the audience and myself. Its damn hard to define what the fundamental essence of „Kamelio“ is, come along next time and become part of this often spectacular symbiosis of collective self-liberation in which we all play an equally important part.

When our sparks bounce mutually back and forth, the collective love for the music unites us for the moment, this magic floods the party and we can sometimes reach moments of pure bliss. I truly believe this is one of the essential reasons we all go out partying and enjoy electronic music so much. Thats the reason we are, and will always be, immortally in love with each other! Music.....I love you!

Later on I wanted to have a better look behind the scenes, to get to know the object of my affection from another side and deepen the relationship. I did a course in Audio Visual Media Design where I, predictability enough, concentrated on the Audio side ;-) During this time I also moderated my own radio show on Hagen's local radio station. I called the show „Kamelio“. With this show I had the ultimate means to pave the way in Hagen and the sur-rounding area. I could present electronic music, play sets from other DJ's, carry out interviews and announce upcoming events. Its safe to say that this radio show was one of many root causes for the huge growth in the popularity of electronic music in the region, one which continues to this day and whose end is not yet in sight.

In 2009 I moved to Berlin and quickly secured gigs in various clubs and bars ://about blank, Golden Gate, SO36, Morlox, Südblock, Möbel Olfe..... Its easy to stay busy in Berlin and there was no shortage of interesting projects to be involved with. I was heavily involved organizing the festival “Reise macht den Kopf frei” for which I, through good connections to the label boss of Traumschallplatten, secured TribelR alias Reinhard Reinhold for Golden Gate, a venue where I have been a secret Resident for the party series “Hoch die Tassen” which has been going on now for over 10 years already. I also made it possible for Minilouge to come and play in Berlin, twice. Playing together with both Minilouge and TribelR was a dream come true for me as they have been a truly huge influence of mine over the years.

So, after an extended time-out I'm back in the race and together with you folks, ready to shake/pulsate/pound the walls :-) Anyway, I hope I was able to give you a little insight into who I am. I'd be thrilled to see you all at one of Kamelio's upcoming gigs. Either way here is a musical sample to keep you going in the meantime. Enjoy! ...and of course it goes without saying that I have „just like everyone else“ 10000000000 very im-portant projects in the pipeline.

Lots of love and all the best

Kamelio
